Hi I am re-locating due to jobs to Thornton Blackpool Lancs, anyone stable round there? Been to look at a yard today as starting to look for another FELL as I lost mine 2 yrs back. In Chorley at moment but moving to Thornton and was wondering if anyone is from round there. Just starting to look round different stables at moment. Was advised by a friend who lives round the area to look at Stanah House Farm. Been today and seems a REALLY nice yard. PLENTY of turnout paddocks and lots of grazing and riding facilites looks really good. Didn't see anyone, but owner said I could look round.

The only problem is I have fallen in love with a lovely looking FELL on the yard Tilly (name on door) she is gorgeous and want to pinch her!!!!!!! Think its the yard for me as I know when I do find my FELL I can get plenty of advice, nice to know there would be another one on there.

Anyway need to start looking for a pony but seems really nice place to take her. Let me know if ANYONE is from around the area.

There is a member of Fell Fans called 'Tillysmum' (Maggie) who, I think, lives near Blackpool, :dunno: perhaps it was her 'Tilly' you saw !!!!!

I think Chips owner Sue, also lives in the Blackpool area. I am sure if they can, they will give you advice. :)

that was Maggies Tilly, i'm in Thornton and stable just down the road from there at Thornton Equestrian Centre on Raikes Road, call in and look at my Fell he's gorgeous (he's like a cream cake naughty but nice), theres also other fells on our yard as they specialize in M & M's. Stannahs ok i was on there when i first bought my pony, my only problem was i was on the kids bit as i have 2 kids and the stable wasn't big enough, had they given me a suitable stable i would of stayed on there.
By the way there is a fell advertised in the local saddlers for sale.

:hello: anna1 That was my pony Tillys Destiny that you saw, glad you liked her I think shes rather special but then I'm slightly biased :lol: There are 3 other fells on the yard, dont know if you saw them. I have been there since 1992 and its a really good yard, we have 3 turnout paddocks, an outdoor school, an indoor school, lots of summer grazing and a nice safe bridleway on the doorstep. the liverys are a friendly bunch and are willing to help if you need it without interfering. I wouldn't want to move anywhere else. Good luck in your search for your special pony :boxer:

Hi Maggie I believe you are on Stanah, what a small world I carn't believe it. I have decided that I am going to go to Stanah House Farm, there is one stable on the yard near outdoor paddock. It will be free in about 2 months so gives me time to look for a pony. If I have not found one before then going to start paying for it because I don't want to loose it!! Have not met you yet, apart from your Tilly, went down yesterday, was that you jumping her in the paddock, she has a POP on her there!! She looked great but both were in full concentration so I didnt hang around. M & M workers??? She looks like she loves her jumping by the way/

Carn't wait to meet you, I will be popping down again in next few days so hope to see you soon. Yes I did see the other FELLS on the yard, near the shop but still was drawn to Tilly, hey your not thinking of selling her are you!!!? lol.

Met a few people Maggie and they seem really nice, feels like a really friendly yard and yes the hacking is JUST what I need. The facilities are fantastic I must admit. Anyway, my mind is made up now so moving to new house in next week so hope to meet you soon. What a lovely pony next to yours, little grey who does he belong to, he is soooo sweet!

Hi anna, no it wasn't me jumping Tilly it was catherine [ my instructer] I was sat in the corner at the opposite end to the gate thats why you didnt see me. When you find your fell and if you do bring it to stanah I would definately recommend catherine if you are looking for an instructer, she teaches a lot of us on the yard and is there most days [handy for a bit of help and advice]. The pony next to Tilly is Bracken, hes mine as well [for my sins :rolleyes:] he is a cutie and Tilly adores him. Hope to meet you soon, I'm there all morning and back at tea time.

hey anna as you can see from my name im tillys mums daughter for my sins :rolleyes: hehe been at stanah a very long time hehe since i was lyk 3 :O scary!!!! ye tilly is nice to look at but she a bit of a madam isnt she mum? dnt deny it cos you no she is and she walks all over you cos u r 2 soft :) and bracken is the best pony on the yard even if i do say so my self hehe he is a right cutie :D tilly wudnt b able 2 go 2 shows with out him cos she gets restless but he keeps her calm hes great :D i hope 2 meet you to altho u will probably think im completely bonkers :P but ya only live once :D
