Hello mutual fell pony fans :)

I am Karin-Luise, abbreviated to K-L, I'm 35 now (time flies :gaah: ), married to Michael and have a 7-year old daughter, Rebecka.
We are from Denmark - we live 20 kilometres west of Copenhagen. We used to have a fantastic, wonderful bay fell pony: Ralfland Reynard, but tragically we lost him a month ago in an accident. He was hit by car after running out of the paddock :(

We are currently trying to find a new fell pony. Reynard was our only pony and we badly miss going to the stables every night - as you all now it's a whole lifestyle having horses!!

Thanks everybody :) for the warm welcome, sympathy with our loss and encouragements in terms of finding a new fell.
It is however pretty difficult to come across fells for sale in Denmark. As far as we know there is currently only 1 on the market!!

:hug: Truly sorry to hear about the loss of your boy. Is it possible to buy a pony from the UK and transport it to Denmark?? Would that be reasonable, or fairly expensive to do?

It is possible to transport a fell from abroad to Denmark - that's how the first ones got here :)
They either sail Harwich-Esbjerg or travel via the Netherlands, so it's a long trip!
I have spoken with a few professional transportation companies and prices are actually very reasonable - there is no way I could make the journey cheaper myself!
Adult fells for sale in Denmark are hard to come by - we were very lucky with Reynard :wub: but we know that our next fell has a long journey ahead..

Oh good, so the trip is reasonably priced then :) I imported Blossom to the US, so I know how spendy these things can get. It was SO worth being able to have her, though, and to safely bring her across (many, many MANY thanks to Gina for Blossom's safe journey :hug: )

If this is the case, you'll have a lot more to choose from, and finding your new best friend is half the fun :wub:

We have actually looked into importing a filly from the US to Denmark, because a very very adorable fell!
But the journey was more expensive than the pony, so we have sort of abondoned the idea :(

Yes, the price of the ticket from the UK to the US was more than the price of the pony, but as I said, in Blossom's case it was totally worth it for me :wub: She is one truly special pony for me. :wub:

But from the UK to Denmark will surely be a cheaper ticket. :thumbsup:
